Recipe
How to play
- Hold the ball and use it. You throw it the way you're looking. The ball leaves your hand and lands as an item.
- One pet goes after it. Dogs and foxes get first dibs, then cats and ocelots, then everyone else; in each group the one closest to you.
- A dog or fox drops into a play bow, races after the ball and brings it back to you. A cat or ocelot fetches it about half the time and otherwise just chases it. Everyone else chases it and noses it about.
- Pick the ball up again (you can't for the first 2 seconds) and throw it again.
Pets that are on Stay or Go There, on a lead, being ridden, ill or too tired don't join in.
Who fetches
Cats and ocelots fetch half the time. Every other animal chases the ball, except parrots: wave a Feather Wand for them.
Tips
- Throw it in an open space. A ball that lands in lava burns up like any item.
- Play counts as hands-on care for loyalty.
