Cat Tree
Two blocks tall, with a sisal scratching post and a cushioned perch on top. Cats scratch it, lounge on it and nap up there, all on their own.
| ID | vanillapets:cat_tree |
|---|---|
| Stack size | 64 |
| How to get it | Crafting: carpets, string and planks |
| Fastest tool | Axe (it drops by hand too) |
| Drops | Itself (one, whichever half you break) |
| Placing | Needs two blocks of space. The post faces you. Breaking either half removes both. Burns like wool. |
Recipe
How cats use it
Put a tree within 16 blocks of your cats. Now and then, while they're on Idle or Follow:
- Scratching (most often): a cat walks up to the post, stands up on its hind legs and rakes its claws down it. It enjoys that (
Mood up). - Lounging: it leaps up onto the top perch and stretches out there for half a minute or so, then jumps back down.
- Napping: when it's tired and has no Rest Spot, a cat picks the top of the tree over its bed about half the time. It sleeps there until it's rested.
Only one cat uses a tree at a time. A cat on Follow uses a tree near you more often once you settle down, and comes down when you walk off.

Tips
- One tree per cat or two keeps them from waiting their turn.
- Put it near where you work: a following cat climbs up to keep you company.
