Water Bowl
Your pets drink from it on their own when they get thirsty. A water bucket fills it for four drinks.

Recipe
Any bowl, plain or already dyed, plus a dye gives that colour; the example shows blue. Every colour works the same.

A full bowl says “The bowl is full” and takes nothing. Right-click it with an empty hand to see how many servings are left.
How pets use it
- When a pet's
Thirst drops below 40%, it looks for the nearest bowl with water in it, within 16 blocks of where it is. - It walks up and drinks (a dog laps at it).
- It drinks one serving: Thirst +40%. Drinking also fills a cat's or dog's
Bladder a bit.
Only pets on Idle or Follow go and drink. The search range is the searchRange setting (16 by default).

Happy GhastCats, ocelots, dogs, foxes and parrots drink only from a bowl or a water bottle from you, never from ponds. The others drink from a pond, river or lake within 10 blocks when there's no bowl.

Farm animals drink from it. Holds 6 servings: a water bucket fills it, a water bottle adds 2.
Tips
- Water drains faster than food (thirst lasts about 20 minutes, hunger about 25), so check this bowl first.
- A comparator next to the bowl gives a signal by how full it is.
- You can also give a thirsty pet a water bottle straight from your hand.
