Ocelot
Adopt an ocelot and it lives like a house cat: litter box, cat tree, bowls and a bed. It just can't sit, and it doesn't purr.
- House pet
- Bowls
- Pet Bed / Cat Tree
- Litter Box
- Feather Wand
- Hates baths
| Becomes a pet | Use a Pet Collar on it. (Gaining an ocelot's trust in vanilla doesn't tame it.) It starts on Idle. |
|---|---|
| Needs | |
| Eats | Only from a Food Bowl or your hand. |
| Drinks | Only from a Water Bowl or a water bottle from you. Never from ponds. |
| Favourite kibble | Fish Kibble |
| Hand-feed with | Raw cod or salmon, or any kibble |
| Toilet | A Litter Box only. No box (or a full one) means an accident. |
| Sleeps | In a Pet Bed or on top of a Cat Tree. Kneads the bed first, then settles down low. |
| Plays | Pounces at the Feather Wand, chases the Ball of Yarn, fetches the Pet Ball about half the time. |
| Can sit | No: on Stay it just stands still. |
| Petting | Sneak + use with an empty hand. It kneads happily. |
| Tricks | Spin (loyalty 25) and Roll Over (60), like a cat. See Tricks. |
Like a cat
Everything on the Cat page applies to ocelots too: the litter box and covering up afterwards, the cat tree (scratching, lounging, napping on top), washing its face, the feather wand and yarn, kittens play-fighting, and hating water.
What's different
- It's adopted with a Pet Collar, and starts on Idle instead of Follow.
- It has no sitting pose, so on Stay it just stands still.
- It doesn't purr or hiss (those are the vanilla cat's sounds).
- It has no lying-on-its-side pose, so it sleeps settled down low in its bed.
Tips
- Ocelots are shy in vanilla: approach slowly with the collar in hand.
- Give it the same setup as a cat: bowls, a litter box and a cat tree close together, then set it to Idle there.
